INTRODUCTION

The historic Pythagorean Chapter No. 79, consecrated in 1870, is now officially the Special Interest Chapter for The Kent Club and its members. 
With its rich heritage and unique traditions, this chapter offers a truly unparalleled experience for members.

This is a project to revitalise and repurpose Pythagorean Chapter No. 79 where the history, traditions and ambiance are kept alive. 

A DISTINCTIVE OPENING CEREMONY

Pythagorean Chapter stands out with its exceptional opening ceremony, worked under the English constitution by only three chapters. Domatic ritual is worked within Chapter.
This ceremony incorporates the use of a censor by the Thurifer, an officer of the chapter, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere for all attendees, especially exhaltees.

MEETING DETAILS

The chapter convenes at Freemasons Hall three times annually: on the third Thursday of February, April, and November. Dining is currently enjoyed at Freemasons Hall itself.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS AND OPPORTUNITIES

The annual subscription for membership is currently £60, with dining costs around £65. 

As a special incentive, Kent Club members who join or are exalted into the chapter in 2025 will have their joining fee paid by the club. 
Members will also have the chance to progress through chapter offices.

The historic installation meeting for 2025 took place on 24th April 2025, a remarkable event where:
– E. Comp Andrew Fawthrop was installed as MEZ by E. Comp Timothy L’Estrange, PGSN, Metropolitan Deputy Grand Superintendent.
– E. Comp John Parry PGSoj and E. Comp Chris Head PGSoj were installed as H and J respectively.
– Honorary memberships was granted to E. Comp Warren Duke, MetGSupt, and E. Comp Timothy L’Estrange.
