This ceremonial “locking up” of the Tower has been carried out every night for centuries, preserving a ritual steeped in history and significance.

Important Details for Attending the Ceremony of the Keys

Please review the details and strict dress code to ensure a smooth and enjoyable evening:

Arrival

📍 Location: Tower of London (Public Gate)
🕗 Time: Please arrive promptly at 1915 Hrs. Your sponsor will meet you at the gate.

Dress Code

• Gentlemen: Suits or jackets with a shirt collar and tie.
• Ladies: Smart attire (flat or sturdy shoes are strongly recommended due to the cobblestones).
• Not Permitted: Trainers, jeans, or casual wear.

What to Expect

1. Non-Public Tour: Begin with an exclusive tour of the closed Tower, offering a rare behind-the-scenes experience.
2. Warders Bar Access: Enjoy drinks (cash only) in the private Warders Bar. Please note food is not available.
3. Raffle: A raffle will be held during refreshments to support the Tower.
4. Ceremony of the Keys: Witness this historic ritual in a private setting.
5. Return to the Bar: Following the ceremony, enjoy more time in the Warders Bar before departing the Tower at 2300 Hrs.

• Weather: Dress appropriately for all weather conditions, as there is no shelter during the tour or ceremony.
• Behavior: As private guests of the Tower and your sponsor, please conduct yourselves respectfully.
