Join us for a rare opportunity to step behind the doors of one of the most important government buildings in the United Kingdom. This private tour of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office will be led by retired diplomat Graham Holland, whose insight and experience bring the building’s history and purpose vividly to life.

This is not a standard public tour — access is limited, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

ℹ️ About the Event

Guests will be taken through the FCDO’s most significant rooms and ceremonial spaces, including:

  • Durbar Court – The iconic marblelined courtyard at the heart of the building
  • The Grand Staircase – A dramatic Victorian showpiece used for state occasions
  • The Locarno Suite – The setting of the 1925 Locarno Treaties
  • The India Office Council Chamber – A richly decorated room steeped in imperial history

Graham Holland will share stories of diplomacy, architecture, and the personalities who shaped British foreign policy from within these walls.

⏰ Timings

5:00pm – Arrival at the King Charles Street entrance
5:10pm – Guided tour begins
6:40pm – Tour concludes
7:00pm onwards – Optional dinner and drinks at a nearby venue (TBC)
