About the Lecture
The Prestonian Lecture for 2025, “Our Friends in the North”, explores the early roots and remarkable development of Freemasonry in Chester, Cheshire, and the surrounding northern provinces.
Delivered by VW Bro His Honour Judge Simon Medland KC, this official presentation offers an inspiring reflection on the evolution of the Craft and its enduring values in the region.

Following the lecture, brethren and guests are warmly invited to dine at the Grand Connaught Rooms, offering an elegant setting for convivial fellowship and fine dining.
Dining Fee: £80 (includes reception drink and wine)
Meeting Attendance Fee: £10

Attendance at the meeting is open to all Freemasons, regardless of rank.
Booking is essential — places are limited to 240 brethren and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Payment must be made in advance (no payments will be accepted on the day).
